LOVE ISLAND’S Amy Hart had viewers in tears tonight as she quit the show and said a heartfelt goodbye to her “love” Curtis Pritchard.
The ex-flight attendant has been on a roller coaster of emotions ever since the professional dancer brutally dumped the 26-year-old and broke her heart.
Viewers learned the real reason Amy had decided to walk tonight and listened to her heartfelt speech to her former love.
Fans watching couldn’t cope. One wrote, “Nah Amy has me in mad tears I can’t cope #LoveIsland".
“Why am I crying so much 😭 Amy was never my favourite person but she deserves all the love in the world and I hope she finds it and more #LoveIsland," added a second.
And a third commented, “Wow Amy I have massive respect for her that’s a massive thing to do! #loveisland I’m actually gob smacked fair play to her takes a big person to do that fair play".
After learning she and Curtis had been saved, the blonde beauty told her fellow islanders she felt it was her time to leave. Turning to her ex, she said: “I met you and you completely turned my whole world around…
“We made each other happy… I want us to be best, best friends but we both need to move on and we both need to find someone that is going to make us as happy as we make them.”
Being incredibly strong, Amy went on: “Realistically for you, you will not be happy all the time here because you’ll always put me first because you’re such a good person.
“That’s why I love you so much and that’s why I want you to be happy. You are not going to be happy whilst I’m still here. So, I’m leaving today but it’s a positive thing because I’m going to go and start the rest of my life today…
“I’m going to let you go and you pursue whoever it is you want to pursue and hope that you find whatever you are looking for.
“Once this is all done we will have the best friendship you have ever seen in your life.”
In Monday night’s episode viewers watched as Danny and Jourdan were booted out of the villa and the futures of Amy and Curtis, and Lucie and George hung in the balance.
On Monday evening The Sun Online exclusively revealed Amy had decided to walk instead of staying on and having to watch her ex-half boyfriend crack on with someone else.
On Sunday viewers saw Amy, who has never had a boyfriend before, burst into tears when Curtis was flirting with Maura Higgins, 28, and teaching her to dance.
Her departure comes after she was removed from the villa following breaking up with Curtis and given extra therapy and mental health support after repeatedly bursting into tears.
A show source said: “It was Amy’s decision to walk away as she felt she had got as much as she could from the experience.
“She fell in love, had her heart broken and couldn’t stand the thought of seeing Curtis crack on with Maura.
“Producers at ITV felt she was emotionally sound enough to make her own decision.
“They would never dream of keeping someone in there if they weren’t happy about it.
“Amy is a strong woman who knows her own mind. The show has given her confidence to give finding love on the outside a go.”
ITV said: “We take the emotional well-being of all the Islanders extremely seriously.”

Fears about Amy’s well-being were raised in the wake of claims that reality TV shows do not do enough to care for the mental health of contestants.
Amy’s family have been beside themselves having to watch as she has been going through all of this.
Her father, Ian, 54, confided he had to stop tuning into the show because it was “too painful to watch”.
A source close to the funeral director said: “Ian’s a normal father who finds it concerning to watch his daughter go through the rigours of Love Island.
“He can’t bear to read all the upsetting opinions on the internet about her. He has taken down his Facebook account and now refuses to watch the show.
“Any father would find this sort of thing very tough to watch while powerless to intervene.”
When Ian and wife Sue appeared on This Morning last week they told how they backed her wish to go on Love Island.
