Love Island winner Dani Dyer stars in washing detergent ad after ‘struggling to maintain profile’
MOST people respect a fledgling actor must take minor roles at the start of their career – but Dani Dyer is likely to get rinsed for her latest part.
The Love Island star – who won last year’s series alongside her now ex- boyfriend, Jack Fincham — is appearing in an advert for washing detergent.
It’s particularly embarrassing as, being the daughter of EastEnders tough nut Danny Dyer practically makes her acting royalty.
A TV insider said: “After triumphing on one of the biggest TV shows in Britain — with the final watched by a record-breaking 3.6 million people — everyone might have expected Dani to be inundated with offers of quality work.
“But she’s struggled to maintain her profile since Love Island, particularly after she split with Jack a few months ago. And all the attention seems to have turned to the new series.
“Viewers will be wondering what went wrong with her acting career if she’s having to resort to making adverts for washing liquid.” In the promo, Dani says: “No matter how messy I get, just one wash and my clothes smell perfect with Surf.”
Her dad, Danny, was also ridiculed after he appeared in a TV advert for Coke 25 years ago when he was just 16 years old.
He was seen taking a sip of an inferior cola and telling another teen: “It tastes like chicken”. It would be almost two decades before he landed his role as Queen Vic landlord, Mick Carter on Albert Square.
At least Dani is following in her dad’s footsteps by becoming a soap star.
Dating show a class act
THE worlds of Towie and Made In Chelsea are set to create the ultimate coupling in the name of TV matchmaking.
The brains behind Channel 4 reality programme First Dates are making a new dating show for Channel 5, Uptown Girls, which will see people from different ends of
the social spectrum get together.
The show, by production firm Twenty Twenty, is set to air later this year and see posh girls pair up with dapper, working-class lads to see if love really can conquer all.
I’d like to see The Real Housewives Of Cheshire get in on the act too.
Flack's a nut cracker
CAROLINE Flack is used to all things tropical as the lucky lady fronting Love Island.
Which might explain why her latest Instagram image shows her necking coconut water.
Most people might have been too distracted by those seriously brown, toned legs to have spotted the super-healthy tipple she’s clutching.
It’s hard to believe age-defying Caroline turns 40 this year – maybe we should all start cracking open those coconuts . . .

BRITAIN’S Got Talent’s Amanda Holden is to do a charity skydive. She said on Heart radio: “Flippantly said, ‘Yeah, I’ll do that.’ Then someone said, ‘Would you seriously jump out of a plane?’ I had no idea of the details.”
It's your Corrie life, Sue
CORRIE’S Sue Nicholls has clocked up more than 2,700 episodes as crimper Audrey Roberts during four decades on the soap. Now she will celebrate in a one-off ITV show Coronation Street Icons: Audrey Roberts – 40 Fabulous Years.
The This Is Your Life-style prime-time show – to be aired this autumn – will feature interviews with celebrity fans and fellow Corrie stars, plus clips of her “best bits” from Audrey’s turbulent life.
Sue scooped the Outstanding Achievement gong at the British Soap Awards last month. And Sir Ian McKellen even appeared briefly in a pre-recorded video message to celebrate the fete, calling her “my dear Audrey”.
I expect there will be even more acting royalty paying tribute . . .
A whole new Boulle game
MADE In Chelsea star Francis Boulle has broken up with his actress girlfriend Katy Reece.
The posh reality star, whose exes include Harry Potter star Emma Watson and I’m A Celeb 2017 winner Georgia Toffolo, had been dating her since September 2016.
He told his Private Parts podcast: “It is with great sadness that I must report that Katy and I have regrettably parted ways. Break-ups are just the most awful thing and it’s been quite an adjustment. Fortunately we have both had lots to keep our minds busy and distracted.”
He’ll be one of the most eligible bachelors going as he’s worth a reported £10million. I’m just surprised it’s not being played out on E4.

BAKE Off’s Nadiya Hussain has hit out at the “stigma” attached to tinned veg, saying: “They are seen in a negative light and we need to just accept that they can be a part of our cooking and day-to-day lives.”

HONEY decides to propose to Adam in Eastenders– not realising he’s been secretly bedding Habiba. Linda puts the idea in Honey’s head, teasing that wedding bells can’t be far away once Adam has done the deal to buy their flat from Jack.
Later, Honey is eager for her boyfriend’s help when she loses her keys – and finds him with Habiba in the bedroom.
On Emmerdale, Victoria is hell-bent on leaving the village – so she and Diane prepare Keepers Cottage for an estate agent viewing.
However, when Lee’s mother Wendy reappears she demands to be involved with the baby and threatens that Lee might fight for custody.
