13 Reasons Why star accidentally reveals season three start date of hit Netflix show is in October 2019
NETFLIX show 13 Reasons Why will return to screens in October 2019- claims show star.
Zach Pursack, an extra on the hit show, accidentally revealed the return date to fans on Twitter recently.
The actor, who plays the role of a jock in the upcoming series, wrote: "13 Reasons Why season 3. October 2019 ! Let's go !"
However, while the post still remains on Twitter, he has now deleted it off Instagram.
In attempt to cover his tracks, the actor took to the comments section under his tweet to offer an explanation behind it.
He wrote: "I’m a fan of the show and I’m a fan of October, my favorite/birthday month. Seperate things. This is casually blowing up for no reason lol."
The Sun Online have approached Netflix for comment on the return date of the highly anticipated third series.
So far, the premiere dates for the previous two seasons haven't followed a specific pattern, with season one kicking off in March 2017 and the second in May 2018.
While no official release fate is yet to be confirmed, a short clip teasing the release of series three was uploaded to the show's official Twitter page in June last year.
The teaser video shows someone opening a locker with a number 3 painted on the door before an unidentified character, possibly Clay, walks across the screen.
The story began after narrator Hannah Baker killed herself and left 13 tapes behind, addressed to 13 different people and each containing a reason as to how they contributed to the fatal end of her life.
She suffered from bullying while attending Liberty High School and was subjected to other horrifying circumstances.
13 Reasons Why became the source of much controversy due to its portrayal of suicide as well as graphic storylines including drink-driving and rape that were shown in season two.
It caused Netflix to step in and add content warnings to the beginning of shows that some viewers may find distressing.
The subscription service later strengthened the warning to include links to details of various support organisations.
Due to the controversy surrounding the show, bosses also stepped in to defend it, and told Associated Press: "We stayed very true to the book...what Jay Asher created was a beautifully tragic, complicated yet suspenseful story and I think that’s what we wanted to do.
"We wanted to do it justice and, yeah, [the backlash is] gonna come no matter what. It’s not an easy subject to talk about, but I’m very fortunate with how it’s doing. I'm overwhelmed, I'm very proud of it."
Season two ended with Tyler Down being sexually assaulted by Montgomery De La Cruz and a few of the other jocks.

Meanwhile, season three could deal with the topic of abortion after Bryce's girlfriend Chloe found out she was pregnant in season two.
Justin Prentice, who plays Bryce told :"I think [the topic of abortion could be covered] and it would be interesting to see how they handle it, because from my point of view, Bryce comes from a powerful family and they have a way of making things disappear, so I don't know.
"It'd be very interesting to see."
