Nick Cave asked ‘where the stopcock is’ in his old flat during Q&A with fans
ROCK star Nick Cave was asked in a Q&A: “Nick, I live in your old flat in Hove. Do you know where the stopcock is?”
The musician, 61, was lost for words before admitting that he didn’t know.
The comic moment came on the Conversations With Nick Cave tour, in which the Aussie star chats with fans and plays the piano.
He also answers questions from the audience.
Moments before the stopcock query, topics had included Nick’s grief over the tragic death of son Arthur aged 15 in 2015, and the pain of the creative process. Journalist Fiona Sturgis tweeted the bizarre stopcock exchange after Nick’s appearance at Brighton Dome Concert Hall on June 28.
One of her followers then commented on the post, revealing she knew the person who fitted the singer’s kitchen in the flat and she could put the audience member in touch with him.
