Moment furious Hugh Grant ‘grabs woman’s camera after mistaking waste firm boss for paparazzi as she filmed fly-tipper’
HUGH Grant was involved in a bizarre bust up with a rubbish firm boss when he furiously tried to grab her camera as she filmed a fly-tipper.
The Four Weddings star, 57, angrily lost his rag thinking she wanted to photograph him while he was on holiday in Italy with his wife Anna Eberstein, 39, celebrating a belated first year wedding anniversary.
Video posted online shows him snatching a mobile phone from Luisa Melara, the chief of Rome council's rubbish collection outfit AMA.
She had been secretly filming a restaurant worker as he illegally dumped rubbish in a side street in a breach of council guidelines.
After Hugh and Anna strayed into the shot, the irate actor can be heard saying: "Don't put your foot out in front of my wife".
The filming then suddenly ends with muffled talking.
Speaking exclusively to The Sun, Luisa said today: "I was simply trying to keep them out of the video I was filming.
"I didn't recognise him as Hugh Grant at first but then I did. He was very impolite and I told him so.
"There was no need for him to react as he did. I was trying to film the restaurant worker illegally putting rubbish out when they came into view.
"I put my foot out to warn her that I was filming and that I wanted her to stay out of shot. That's when they reacted and Hugh snatched my phone out of my hand.
"I immediately snatched it back and he said I was very impolite and I said no you are very impolite.
"I tried to explain what we were doing but I don't think he grasped what we were doing."
A source close to Luisa said: "Hugh was very angry and it looked as if he was annoyed at being filmed as well.
"I think he thought they were trying to take pictures of him."
Rome's streets have been plagued by piles of rubbish amid chaos in collection services, forcing schools to shut their windows and prompting health warnings from doctors.
Grant's wife Anna is a TV producer and retail director from Sweden and the couple have three children together.
They swapped vows in a low-key ceremony on Thursday at Chelsea register office near their £10million West London home in May last year.
The Sun has contacted Grant's representatives but is awaiting a response.
This morning her tweeted about the incident in Rome.
He said: "Sigh. Never remotely thought this person was a pap.
"Or trying to film me or wife. Paps don’t have cell phones. And phone was not pointing at us.
"But she did stick her foot out very rudely in front of my wife who was passing in front of camera. I objected."
