Emily Atack says she gets called fat all the time by cruel trolls as she opens up about her mental health
EMILY Atack has revealed she gets called fat all the time by cruel trolls as she opens up about her mental health.
The 29-year-old confessed she thinks about her weight 80 per cent of the time because of constant jibes.
She told The Sara Cox show: "I think about my weigh all of the time.
"It's partly because I'm a woman and I have my hang-ups, we all do. We all feel fat some days.
"We have periods, we have things that make us feel bloated and all that kind of stuff.
"It's partly that, but also because I have to deal with trolling online. I get called fat all the time.
"We've been brought up in a society where a size four and size six girls are how you see all the lead actresses. Most of them are that size.
"When they see someone who is a normal size, I'm a ten/12/sometimes a 14 if I want to be comfy...
"I am just a normal size. But in other people's eyes I'm bigger."
Her comments come after Emily posted a snap of herself in the gym.
She encouraged followers to take up exercising after she found helped her mental health.
"Anyone that knows me, knows I hate exercising," admitted Emily.
"But I genuinely have found what a positive impact it can have on your mental health if you push yourself to go to the gym and have a bit of self care.
"Even just for half an hour, and even if you have a pint afterwards, it’s SOMETHING!
"I’m really starting to finally understand you’ve got to move your body and keep your blood pumping around if you want to drink rosé, have fun dinners, and ease that Sunday sadness ever so slightly.
"No one can bollock you if you’re in the gym!!"
