Richard Dreyfuss reveals he keeps his Oscar in 'the coolest place in his house' - the fridge.

The Hollywood legend, who won the coveted award for 1978 blockbuster The Goodby Girl, spilled all on Chris Evans' Virgin Radio Breakfast Show.

He made the confession to the host, who branded it the 'coolest place'.

"It is there because I didn't want to brag, but [at same time] I wanted everyone to know, so I wanted [guests] to go into the fridge on their own," said the 71-year-old.

"I would say, 'cucumber sandwiches, anybody? Go and pick one...'

"He's still there, he's tall so I had to change the shelves around."

And he dished the dirt on where other stars keep there Oscars too, revealing Marty Balsom - who won for 1966 movie A Thousand Clowns, uses his as a doorstop, while Barbra Streisand - who has two, for Funny Girl and the original A Star Is Born - keeps one in her bathroom.

Richard won 'the movie triple' for The Goodbye Girl - an Oscar, Golden Globe and BAFTA for Best Actor.

He also starred in Steven Spielberg's Jaws [1975] and Close Encounters of the Third Kind [1977], as well Stand By Me and Down and Out in Beverly Hills.

He is currently in the UK promoting his latest movie, The Astronaut, and his Evening with Richard Dreyfuss show, in which he talks to an audience about his longstanding career.
