Coronation Street spoilers: Carla Connor returns to Weatherfield determined to make amends for the factory death by giving Underworld away
A FRAIL Carla Connor makes a return to Coronation Street next week and she’s determined to make amends for Rana Habeeb’s death earlier this ear by handing Underworld over.
Carla – along with partner Peter Barlow – will return from hospital in Carlisle in Wednesday’s episodes.
The factory boss, who had a breakdown following Rana’s death, is extremely vulnerable but lucid.
Upon hearing that Carla’s due home, Sarah Platt panics that she’ll want to take the reigns of Underworld back over.
Sarah’s new fella, Adam Barlow, does his best to assure her not to worry and gathers the workers around to announce Carla’s return.
When Carla – who’s played by Alison King in the ITV soap – gets back, she has a meeting with her social worker, before packing Peter off to an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting.
She then wastes no time going to see the factory staff who are now working at the community centre.
She’s taken aback by the mixed reception the workers give her, but urges them to listen as she has some news for them.
The staff listen on stunned as Carla reveals she’s handing the business over to them.
When Peter – Chris Gascoyne – finds out what Carla’s told the staff, he panics that she isn’t thinking rationally, blaming her psychosis for making her do rash things.
Carla’s furious when she hears Peter talking to Roy Cropper about taking power of attorney to protect her assets.
A determined Carla argues that her illness has made her realise what’s important and she wants their support.
Later in the week Beth Tinker drops the bombshell on Nick Tilsley that Carla has gifted the factory to the workers.
Needless to say he’s utterly outraged.
Carla then tries to make peace with her half sister Kate Connor and tells her how sorry she is for Rana’s death.
She says she wishes she’d heeded Gary Windass’ warning about the roof and Kate collapses in tears in Carla’s arms.
Peter tries to help matters by asking Michelle Connor if she has a few shifts at the bistro for Carla as he believes the distraction would be good for her.
