PIERS Morgan today took a swipe at Phillip Schofield's feud with Amanda Holden by joking This Morning should be renamed The Repair Shop.
Piers made the quip as it was revealed Good Morning Britain had been nominated for a TV Choice Award alongside Phil's This Morning, antique restoration show The Repair Shop and gameshow The Chase.
After GMB's showbiz reporter Richard Arnold revealed the news this morning, Piers took the opportunity to stick the boot in on the show's daytime rivals.
"What the hell is The Repair Shop? Isn't that This Morning at the moment from what I'm reading?" asked Piers, leaving his co-host Susanna Reid and Richard squirming in their seats.
"I'm joking... only joking!" Piers insisted.
Susanna covered her face with a sheet of paper before quickly trying to change the subject.
The Repair Shop is a BBC2 programme where expert craftsmen pool their talents to restore heirlooms and treasured antiques.
Piers has been vocal in his upset at GMB repeatedly losing out on awards to This Morning.
In January, he admitted he was "livid" after losing the National Television Awards' Best Daytime Show to This Morning - who have scooped the prize every year since 1998.
He fumed: "What have we got to do [to win]?"
Piers' latest comments were aimed at the growing feud between Phillip and Amanda, after the Sun on Sunday exclusively revealed Amanda's anger at apparently being axed from a plum job on This Morning after Phil's intervention.
She was set to fill in for Holly Willoughby while she was hosting I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here! last year but the offer was withdrawn at the last minute.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge, 48, thought Phil, 57, was behind her missing out on the coveted role — which instead went to Rochelle Humes, 30.

A former daytime TV executive said: “Phillip actively campaigned for Rochelle Humes to get the job despite Amanda being more experienced — and having been told privately she’d got the gig.
"She feels Phil unfairly used his powers of persuasion. She was told he’d chosen Rochelle because she was easier to ‘manage’ on air - and understandably that incensed her."
Phil has denied the allegations on Twitter and claimed the story was "untrue".
But yesterday Amanda confirmed it on her Heart FM show and added that she reached out to the legendary presenter and offered an "olive branch coffee".
However, her text message inviting Phil out for drink was ignored by the host, with the mother-of-two saying: "He didn't reply to my text."
