Take That star Howard Donald follows Madonna’s style by wearing an eye patch after fan injures him
HOWARD DONALD was rocking an eye patch on stage during Take That's gig in Berlin – but it wasn’t because Madonna’s latest trend is rubbing off on her fellow stars.
I can reveal the poor bloke got poked in the eye when he was mobbed by fans outside his hotel.
Howard Donald wore an eye patch after a freak injury
A band insider said: “Howard was leaving his hotel in Amsterdam on Monday where he had been staying during the tour and a big crowd of fans jumped on him in the hope of getting some pictures and giving him a hug.
“In the melee someone accidentally poked him right in the eyeball and it’s still pretty sore, even now. One of the team then went out and bought him an eye patch which he could wear on stage to make sure he could keep it protected.”
I think it’s time some of those fans learned a little Patience . . .
Having a sore peeper hasn’t stopped Howard from enjoying himself on the tour, where the band are being supported by Swedish singer Brother Leo.
Howard stayed out partying with his pals until 1.30am in Germany, before heading to Denmark with Gary Barlow and Mark Owen to play the next of their Greatest Hits Live gigs in Frederiksberg.
Their mammoth tour will see the lads head back to Germany, as well as Austria and Italy, before they finish on a high with a gig at the Hallenstadion in Swiss capital Zurich on June 30.
I just hope Howard’s eye is feeling better by then.
But even if it is, I wouldn’t be surprised if he keeps that eye patch on.
It actually really suits him.
Looking Ora-some
Rita Ora turns up the heat in her latest music video with Dutch DJ Tiesto and Jonas Blue.
The singer writhed in a tiny crop top as she danced with half-naked hunks for their new song Ritual.
When I last caught up with Rita, she told me she was taking a break from finding love.
But when she looks this good, she’ll have a queue of blokes waiting for her to get back on to the market.
Biz Bits
- SEAN PAUL has been revealed as the Saturday headline act on the John Peel stage at next week’s Glasto. Foals, Diplo and Robyn were among the names touted for the key slot but Michael Eavis has said Sean will be on from 10.30-11.45pm.
- I’VE loved the Lionesses’ games in the Women’s World Cup but it’s not just their form the team should be proud of. So far more than 17million have tuned in, smashing the 2015 UK TV record of 12.2million. Our girls take on Cameroon tomorrow.
Pink's circus-style gig is chari-hot stuff
PINK’s stage show for her Beautiful Trauma world tour looks like a cross between Cirque du Soleil and one giant party.
The American pop star wowed in a shimmering black jumpsuit at her latest gig in Cardiff and showed off her acrobatic skills – flying across the stage, swinging from a diamante-encrusted chandelier and riding an enormous pink chariot.
And fans watching the show weren’t disappointed, as she belted out some of her biggest hits including Get The Party Started and Raise Your Glass.
Pink continues the show tonight and tomorrow in Glasgow before heading to Liverpool.
She will finish her UK dates with two mega-shows at London’s Wembley Stadium in front of crowds of 20,000 fans next Saturday and Sunday.
I think it looks well worth the price of a ticket.
Jagger's back on form
MICK JAGGER has reached peak Satisfaction after returning to the stage for the first time after his heart op in April.
The Rolling Stones frontman grinned as he posed for a picture during their sound check ahead of their gig last night in Chicago.
Sir Mick and co will travel across North America on their No Filter tour over the next two months before finishing at Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on August 31.
Will puts TV before fans
WILL YOUNG’s promotion for his latest album, Lexicon, is off to a bad start – after he cancelled a signing in London today, at very short notice.
Originally, the ex Pop Idol star came clean and told fans in a tweet on Thursday that he was going to film Top Gear instead but would try to reschedule the signing.
But just seconds later, the message disappeared.
Nothing else was said until yesterday when Will posted another tweet to his fans and simply told them: “I’m sorry guys but my @hmvtweets signing at Westfields tomorrow has unfortunately been cancelled.
"I will see you all at my other HMV signings, starting with Birmingham on Tuesday!”
Something fishy for James' Smithy plot
IT HAS been nine years since Gavin And Stacey was last on our screens and V is feeling the pressure ahead of the Christmas Special.
But it’s not just because of how long they’ve been away.
James is preparing to finally spill the beans on that infamous fishing trip with Bryn, played by Rob Brydon, and Jason (Robert Wilfort) all those years ago.
Speaking with fans in between takes on the set of the British version of his hit US series The Late Late Show, James hinted viewers would be left stunned when they found out their dark secret.
He said: “You need to be careful if you want to know because it might change it all forever and there is a strong chance you might find out on Christmas Day.”
Sounds ominous.

James will be reunited with his co-star and writing partner Ruth Jones for the one-off reboot, which starts filming on Monday.
And he joked both of them were so worried about stepping into Smithy and Nessa’s shoes again that they wanted to vomit.
I’d skip the full English if I was them and start the day on an empty stomach. Just in case.

- ARIANA GRANDE has revealed she is keeping her upcoming tour dates close to home after struggling with her health. Fans had asked why she added extra US dates but no UK ones, but Ariana said: “This is simply the best I’m capable of at this time and keeping me closer to home is what’s best for my health.”
- Bruce Springsteen’s 19th studio album Western Stars is top of this week’s Official Albums Chart, beating nearest rival Madonna by 25,000. Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber’s I Don’t Care tops the Official Singles Chart for the sixth week, with the highest digital download sales as well.
- MARVEL boss Kevin Feige has promised to introduce more gay superheroes following the backlash over director Jose Russo’s cameo as a gay man in Avengers: Endgame. He said: “We haven’t been shy about saying that that’s coming and that there’s much more prominent LGBT heroes in the future.”
- HER dad Paul McCartney may be worth £750million but fashion designer Stella has revealed he didn’t tend to splash out on her when she was a kid. She said: “I went to a comprehensive and I wasn’t given a load of cash. I would go to vintage and second-hand shops and markets to buy clothes.”
