EASTENDERS stars Hetti Bywater, Ricky Norwood and Sam Strike reunite with Himesh Patel as they celebrate his forthcoming debut in film, Yesterday.
Hetti, who played Lucy Beale in the BBC Soap, shared a picture of the reunion on her Instagram.
The groups of friends - who all met during their time on Eastenders - were delighted for Hamish, who plays the lead role in the new Beatles-themed movie.
, Hetti gushed: Love you all so much! But @himeshjpatel you are F***ING unbelievable! I am so so happy for you!
And I promise I’ll stop crying at some point. You are an incredible human being! Such a surreal night. Everyone needs to go and watch @yesterdaymovie because it is INSANE and Himesh SMASHES IT! What a beautiful performance from such a beautiful person!"
Hamish, 28, spent nine years on Albert Square playing Tamwar Masood.
He left the soap in 2016, admitting he was initially 'terrified' to leave, even though he knew it was 'the right moment'.
Talking to , he said: "The amount of time I planned to stay kept changing because I was aware the transition could be hard.
"I was still enjoying my time there and growing as an actor. But then it felt like the right moment to take a leap of faith.
"It was a tough decision to walk away from what was my family, and a character who will always have such an important part of my life, but it had to be done.
"There's only so far you can take yourself as an actor and a character in that show. I knew it was time to leave, and it was terrifying."
Yesterday follows a struggling singer-songwriter, [Himesh Patel's character], who wakes after a road accident to discover he lives in a world where The Beatles never existed.
After he passes off the band’s music as his own, he is spotted by popstar Ed Sheeran, who makes a cameo appearance, and becomes a superstar.
Yesterday is set for release in cinemas on June 28.
