Lisa Faulkner is ‘happy’ she’s infertile and claims she loves her child MORE because she’s adopted
ACTRESS Lisa Faulkner has said she is "happy" she is infertile as she would not have adopted her daughter Billie.
The former EastEnders star, 47, adopted her now 13-year-old daughter when she was just 15-months-old with ex-husband Chris Coghill.
The TV star, who is currently engaged to Masterchef's John Torode, added that she loves her adopted daughter more "because she is not [her] birth child".
Speaking to , she said: "I am really happy that I am infertile because I wouldn't have got Billie without it. I think I love her more because she is not my birth child. It is ferocious and it comes from here [my heart].
"But I don't think that yearning to be pregnant will ever completely go until I hit the menopause and I can't physically have children any more."
The author, who explained her chances of conceiving halved after she was left with "one fallopian tube" following an ectopic pregnancy, said the pressure of trying to conceive made her a "complete stranger".
And although she struggled to talk about adoption at first, Lisa learnt quickly that she didn't have to grow a baby "in order to love it".
Her candid comments come months after she revealed she had put her wedding plans to Masterchef star John Torode on hold because they were "too busy" filming their new TV show.
The actress and celebrity chef got engaged on Christmas Day after they meet on the BBC show in 2010 - which Lisa went on to win.
However speaking to The Sun Online in March, Lisa said their ITV series about them cooking together had taken up their full attention.
She said: "I've been so busy with writing and doing the show. Once I've got Easter out the way I can start planning."
When quizzed on whether Greg Wallace will play a part in the wedding, Lisa said: "I have no idea. You'll have to ask John!"
Her new nine-part series called John And Lisa's Weekend Kitchen included other famous chefs in between her spending time in the kitchen with her husband-to-be.

She said: "There's no bad side to working with John. It's so nice to travel into work together and chat all day, then continue chatting at home.
"He's my best mate and it's lovely to stand next to him and think he's got me and I've got him.
"It's really nice... plus he makes great food. We're really enjoying filming it.
