Amanda Holden breaks down in tears live on the radio as she congratulates friend with cystic fibrosis for having a healthy baby boy
AMANDA Holden broke down in tears on the radio this morning as she congratulated her friend with cystic fibrosis for having a healthy baby boy.
The Britain's Got Talent judge got emotional while discussing her pal's new addition during her Heart Breakfast Show with Jamie Theakston.
She said: “I just wanted to I’ve a massive congratulations and shout out to a very close friend of mine. I might actually start crying.
“My lovely friend Mary and Stuart, her husband, have a lovely family, three kids, but Caroline, their eldest, who is 27, was born with cystic fibrosis.
“For her whole life, Mary and Stuart — and Caroline — have been a huge credit because they have never, ever let it hold her back.
“On Friday she safely, thank goodness, gave birth to a little boy — sorry, it just really wells me up — called Henry John Darcy.”
“And the fact that she’s got on with cystic fibrosis her whole life and now had a baby who, I’m sure we’ll find out today, is going to be clear of that illness.
“I just wanted to say, there is hope out there for anybody suffering from anything.
“If you’re told you can’t do something, don’t listen. Keep going on.
"If you’ve got amazing parents like Mary and Stuart then you’re always going to be fine.
“It’s just such a lovely story."
Tune in to the all new Heart Breakfast with Jamie Theakston and Amanda Holden, weekdays from 06:30 – 10:00 across the UK.
The 48-year-old star said fans always think she's taller than she is as she often appears alongside short male co-stars onscreen.
