BGT Champions in talks with Collabro – and want to reunite original band on camera
BRITAIN'S Got Talent bosses are in talks with Collabro to reunite the band on camera for its upcoming Champions show.
The musical theatre group won BGT all the way back in 2014.
And now they're set to make a comeback on Simon Cowell's telly spinoff- minus Richard Hadfield, who quit the band three years ago.
A source close to the band told The Sun Online: "BGT producers are desperate to get the whole band back together as it would make great TV to show them talking through their issues and working things out - then reuniting on stage together.
"It would spark interest in the band again and they think viewers would love to see them back together as they were then."
However, another source insisted Richard won’t be joining the band again on stage: "The band as they are now have been in talks with BGT, Richard left years ago so there's no reason why he would be part of it."
Producers are desperate to reunite them on stage so they can cover their issues and making up on camera after a bitter feud saw Richard quit.
He made the decision to leave the group after performance on a Britain's Got Talent 10 year anniversary special in 2016.
He said that relations were tense and other members were unhappy producers used him as the lead singer and he got more air time than them. They haven't spoken since.
Richard has said: "Due to a contractual disclosure agreement I am not allowed to discuss what really happened but I can assure you I am far happier in the direction I am going and that I am no longer subject to the politics and manipulation that took place during my time in Collabro."
He also said said his “mental health was at stake” and he “just had” to leave the group
Since quitting Collabro, Richard has gone turned into something of a hunk, losing almost 4 stone - and has proudly been showing off his physique on social media.
He focused on slimming down after he quit the group to pursue a solo career as a jazz singer.
At the start of his diet Richard weighed in at 18st lbs and dropped to 14st 6lbs within four months.
Richard said: "Being free from the band really sparked my weight loss.
"I had been unhappy for a long time and comfort ate to escape my misery.
"My weight sky rocketed up to 18st 3lbs and I was clinically obese with 30% body fat. I started being known as the 'fat one' in the band. It really hit me hard.
"I was embarrassed about my weight but I was in a really bad environment professionally and couldn't stop eating."
Britain's Got Talent: The Champions will see fan-favourite finalists, winners and other contestants from across the globe compete in an all-star series.

It is thought that Susan Boyle, Paul Potts, Tokio Myers, and Collabro are among the UK acts to have been asked to return to the stage.
The American version of the show proved a big hit and saw the likes of Boyle and Lost Voice Guy competing.
The official line-up of judges is yet to be revealed.
But, it is likely to be the four current BGT judges.
This means Simon will be joined by David Walliams, Amanda Holden, and Alesha Dixon.
Ant and Dec are also likely to host the show.
