While a fourth praised the show calling it "amazing."

Meanwhile former Corrie star Suranne has insisted the lesbian romps in Gentleman Jack are more "intimate" and "tender" than other sex scenes.

The 40-year-old actress plays the role of Anne Lister in the BBC One period drama, alongside Sophie Rundle, who portrays her on-screen lover and neighbour Ann Walker.

The pair enjoy a string of intimate moments together, but the Doctor Foster star has insisted those moments are not "gratuitous" and were "beautifully" directed.

Asked how she found filming the lesbian sex scenes to the Daily Star on Sunday newspaper, she said: "It's the psychological, the intimacy and the tenderness that we went for, so there were a lot of looks we could do that spoke volumes.

"It didn't need to be too gratuitous in any way."
