MasterChef star Gregg Wallace’s wife Anna, 32, gives birth to their ‘miracle’ son Sid
The telly star told fans: 'I went down the business end and watched the doctors pull Sid out'
MASTERCHEF judge Gregg Wallace and wife Anna have welcomed their first child, a boy called Sid, after years of trying to conceive.
The 54-year-old pudding king said he was so scared about the birth that he "could have hugged the doctors" when the baby took its first breath.
He said he found the birth far more terrifying than when his first two children, who he shares with second wife Denise, were born.
He told : “I was far more scared this time than when I had Tom and Libby.
“I don’t know if it’s because it took us so long to conceive or perhaps it’s because I’m older, but I was scared for their health. I could have hugged the doctors."
The TV star added: “I went down the business end and watched the doctors pull Sid out.
"I saw him take his first breath, it was just beautiful. I looked at him and thought he was perfect."
Gregg revealed earlier this year that they were having a baby.
He explained: "We were due to start IVF but then it happened naturally after two years of trying. The doctor told us it was a miracle Anna was pregnant.
“I’ve been scared and stressed since she fell pregnant but since we had the 12-week scan recently it feels joyous."
He added: “Seeing a scan of our baby son and the strength of his heartbeat made me cry."
Gregg and Anna, who is 21 years his junior at 33, met on Twitter, when she asked the star for advice on a rhubarb recipe.
They married in 2016 in an intimate ceremony at Hever Castle in Kent, not far from their Whitstable home, with his Gregg's MasterChef co-host John Torode as best man.
Anna is his fourth wife, and he has two teenage children from his second marriage to former pastry chef Denise.
