STACEY Solomon has been praised for showing the reality of childbirth in her blood-spattered hospital picture.
The new mum, 29, welcomed her first child with boyfriend Joe Swash today - a month earlier than planned.
The Loose Women star has been sharing the realities of motherhood throughout her pregnancy - including a picture of her hairy baby bump.
So when it came to choosing a photo to illustrate her baby's birth, she chose to be brutally honest.
Stacey is still in bed with her newborn clutched to her chest in the intimate snap shared to Instagram tonight.
She is wearing a blood-spattered T-shirt and more blood can be seen on the towel and her baby's head.
Instead of smiling sweetly for the camera, the new mum appears to be in pain as she closes her eyes with a furrowed brow and breathes deeply out of her mouth.
Her hair is pulled up in a scruffy bun and she isn't wearing a scrap of makeup.
And fans rushed to praise Stacey for her honest portrayal of childbirth.
Celeb pal Fearne Cotton wrote: "Wow what a beautifully powerful picture! I’m thrilled for you both."
Another fan added: "I love this photo more than any photo on Instagram... Why?? ...because it's real because it's perfect it's Stacey down to a T... She's real she's not fake she's showing the world exactly what it is to have a baby she's exhausted but still perfect in every way."
Another wrote: "Massive congratulations Stacey. Beautiful photo showing how it really is. Much love to you both"
A third fan added: "Such a beautiful and real image so much love for you all."
Earlier this week, Stacey admitted she isn’t concerned by her looks and accepted there will be “placenta everywhere” as the new baby arrives.
She told The Sun Online: “I have given birth twice so I know the mess that I get in. What is the point in having a beauty treatment before? It’s a waste of money.
“The midwives aren’t going to care either. I will be puking up and there will be placenta everywhere and I will have a baby coming out of my vagina, I don’t think I will care.
“I’m going to spend the money on a McDonalds on the way home from hospital.”
Taking to Instagram earlier this evening, Joe admitted he was in awe of his girlfriend and "witnessed the impossible" as Stacey gave birth.
"This morning. A lot earlier than planned I watched the love of my life, bring a new life into the world," he wrote.
"We are overwhelmed, overjoyed and apprehensive of what’s to come. Mummy and baby are well and resting.
"We are so grateful for all of the love, support and positivity we’ve received over the last 8 months.
"I’m lost for words to describe how I’m feeling. So for now, I’m going to spend the next few days and the rest of my life falling more in love with these two humans.
"I didn’t think it possible but, today I witnessed the impossible. My partner, My love, my life, you are a super human. I am forever in awe. Joe X"
The former X Factor star also said she’s relieved after being asked to rejoin the Loose Women panel following her maternity leave.
She said: “Oh my God, it’s my dream job. You literally sit with your friends and have a laugh and you are part of a really amazing team.
“It’s a real privilege to have a platform to have a voice and I don’t think I will ever not love it.
“They have been really good about saying take the time that you need and they will have me back which is really amazing.
“You are so replaceable and if you’re not there then someone else is going to jump at the chance to do it. Nothing is guaranteed and we are all freelance.”
