STRICTLY dancer Gorka Marquez has begged the show's bosses to partner him with a northern celeb so he can be close to girlfriend Gemma Atkinson and their baby.
The 28-year-old pro and 34-year-old soap star Gemma, who live together in Bury, Greater Manchester, are expecting their first child together this summer.
A source told The Sun Online: "Gorka has pleaded with Strictly producers to put him with a northern-based star so he can be close to home.
"By the time the show is on, Gemma will have given birth to their baby and he doesn't want to be too far from them.
"Strictly professionals are required to base themselves from Monday to Friday in the area where their celebrity lives.
"Obviously, if he's in the south or another far-flung location, it will be struggle to get back to them both."
Gemma and Gorka met on Strictly in 2017 and now live in Gemma’s hometown of Bury, where they have been gearing up for the birth.
This week, Gemma was rushed to hospital "looking like the exorcist" after being struck with her fourth water infection while pregnant.
The star told fans she had been ";vomiting all night" after dashing to hospital to find out the cause of her pain.
Gemma explained: "Today’s post is the glamorous subject of Kidney infections. Yes, I’m going there.
"I’ve had 3 so far during pregnancy and this morning I was diagnosed with my 4th.
"The first two I knew nothing about, the third one floored me and I actually ended up in A&E with it back in early April. Apparently some woman are just prone to them."
Gemma said she mistakenly thought her pain was simply back ache after watching Avengers: End Game in the cinema with boyfriend Gorka Marquez before she was diagnosed.
