Trevor Eve admits he ‘wasn’t able to cope’ at the height of his anxiety in candid chat on the Chris Evans Virgin Radio Breakfast Show

TREVOR Eve has admitted he wasn't able to cope at the height of his anxiety during a candid chat on the Chris Evans Virgin Radio Breakfast Show.
The 67-year-old actor - best known for his roles in Waking the Dead and Shoestring - paid a visit to the radio show this morning to talk about his new book, Lomita For Ever.
Trevor explained to Chris, 53, how one of the characters struggles with their mental health, something he has experienced first hand.
He said: "In 1994 I can remember having that form of anxiety and just not being able to cope with things.
"In those days you had to keep everything quiet otherwise you wouldn't work.
"So I got back on track and had therapy and everything and I was fine - and I have been fine - and I'm grateful to the people who helped me."
Trevor - who is the father of actress Alice Eve - first opened up about his own mental health a few weeks ago.
And as this week is Mental Health Awareness Week, the star wanted to stress the importance of people seeking help during his chat with Chris.
He said: "I just thought I'm going to come out [and say it], if you have those situations in your life - and I think most of us do at some point - you should say it and we should rally round and help people and not have any stigma attached.
"There are so many varieties of it, it doesn't mean you should be institutionalised, some people can't deal with the stresses of life at a particular time.
"Things happen to people, and we should support that and understand it the same as if someone broke their leg."
Lomita For Ever is described as a dark, philosophical thriller set in Los Angeles.
