Killing Eve’s Jodie Comer reveals she lied to her family to test out Villanelle’s now infamous poker face
The actress used her own family to prepare for the role of Villanelle in the hit series, which she stars in with Sandra Oh
KILLING Eve actress Jodie Comer has revealed she lied to her family to test out how good her character Villanelle’s poker face was.
The 26-year-old told the : “One of the most intriguing things about her is her famous poker face.
“I tested it out on my family to see how credible I was as a liar. I would invent all these absurd stories and tell them about these strange incidents, and they all fell for it. At least almost always.
“I’ve always been pretty good at keeping secrets and not letting on what I’m thinking and of course Villanelle is a master at suppressing her thoughts and feelings.”
Killing Eve is up for six Baftas at tonight’s ceremony, with Jodie up for Best Actress alongside her co star Sandra Oh, who plays Eve Polastri.
They will compete against Keeley Hawes for her role in Bodyguard and Ruth Wilson, in Mrs Wilson.

Jodie revealed that her chemistry with Sandra was instant during their audition and she knew that if she didn’t get the job she would have been “devastated”.
The star, also known for roles in Doctor Foster, My Mad Fat Diary and The White Princess, has won global acclaim since Killing Eve hit screens last year.
The darkly comic cat-and-mouse crime drama, penned by Phoebe Waller-Bridge, sees Oh play MI5 operative Eve Polastri, who becomes obsessed with Comer's psychopathic killer.
The second series of Killing Eve is currently airing in America, and will come to UK screens in June.
