Walford's favourite pub landlord has been away from our screens ever since he and wife Linda headed to Australia to see their daughter Nancy marry her long-term love Tamwar Masood back in February.

But when Linda returned to EastEnders a few weeks later, Mick wasn’t with her, leaving fans concerned that the Queen Vic legend may not be returning.

However, there was nothing to panic about - Mick had simply decided he wanted to spend some quality time Down Under with his daughter.

In real life actor Danny Dyer was temporarily written out of the BBC One soap so he could appear on stage in Harold Pinter play The Dumb Waiter.
