Is Gemma Winter leaving Coronation Street? The Weatherfield favourite is desperate to hide her big secret from Chesney
The Weatherfield favourite packs her bags TONIGHT as she hides her big secret from Chesney Brown
The kebab shop worker can’t cope with the constant rows she’s having with her ex. Gemma Winter is hiding a big secret from Chesney Brown in Coronation Street – the fact that she’s carrying his baby (possibly babies.)
But after yet another row with Ches when he accused her of sleeping around, she decided to leave Weatherfield. Tonight, viewers will see her tell Rita Tanner and her twin brother Paul that she’s leaving. Here’s the tea…
Is Gemma Winter leaving Coronation Street?
Gemma’s pretty adamant that she’s going for good, but she’ll be back.
Corrie has just cast Jane Hazlegrove (best known to telly fans as Dixie from Casualty) as Gemma’s mum, which kind of hints she hasn’t gone for good.
There’s also the fact that Gemma has a HUGE storyline coming up, which involves the kebab shop worker discovering she’s pregnant with quadruplets.
The Sun Online revealed Gemma’s happy nappy news back in January.
A Corrie source told us at the time: “The show’s new boss, Iain MacLeod, is keen to inject a bit of old-fashioned humour into Coronation Street like in the years gone by and this storyline will have viewers in stitches.”
According to our source, Gemma will react in a typically Gemma-style and start seeing pound signs as soon as she finds out about her multiple-births.
The source said: “Gemma doesn’t miss a trick and instantly thinks of ways she can make some dosh out of her and Chesney’s unexpected news.”
Also, spoilers for next week reveal that Gemma will shock her kebab shop boss Dev Alahan when he finds her at work with her feet up, watching a film. Not only that but Tim Metcalfe is behind the counter helping himself to his grub.
MORE ON CORONATION STREET
There hasn’t been any statement from Coronation Street or from actress Dolly-Rose Campbell who plays Gemma that the character is leaving, so it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing Gemma on our screen for a while yet.
Which is just as well considering the amount of Corrie cast members who have quit the ITV soap recently.
Lucy Fallon – who plays Bethany Platt – is the latest to reveal she’s off to pastures new. The shock news came two days after Faye Brookes – Kate Connor – quit and just 24 hours after Sinead Tinker actress Katie McGlynn said she was off too.
