The Night King

Wow, what a shock! The Night King himself was killed off during the episode.

Arya Stark used the Valyrian dagger - which was once meant to kill Bran Stark - to stab the Night King in the gut and ultimately wipe him out.

And with the Night Walker wiped out, so was his growing White Walker army.
Viserion, the Wights and all the other White Walkers also died.

Eddison Tollett

Eddison, better known as Dolorous Edd,  was the first to die in the episode amid the battle against the White Walkers.

After rescuing Samwell Tarly, Eddison is abruptly stabbed from behind.

He was briefly revived later in the episode by the Night King.

Beric Dondarrion

Given that he has died plenty of times in the past, the Lighting Lord certainly wasn’t going to survive this intense bloodbath, and that became very obvious in the attempt to save Arya Stark.

While leading Clegane on a mission to rescue her, Beric shows great courage as he rallies courage in the Hound.

His strength throughout the battle doesn’t go unnoticed, but everything appears to have come to a halt when Beric is forced to make the decision of sacrificing his own life to save Arya.

"The Lord brought him back for a purpose," Melisandre (Carice Van Houten) tells Arya when Beric passes. "Now? That purpose has been served."

Lyanna Mormont

Lyanna Mormont, the Lady of Bear Island, confronted an undead giant in the Winterfell battle.

As the giant grabbed her and lifted her in the air, he foolishly allowed Lyanna to get close enough so that she could stab a dragonglass dagger through her opponent’s eye.

But she was still crushed to death by the giant White Walker.

Jorah Mormont

Jorah dies in Daenerys Targaryen's arms.

He showed his true strength while attempting to protect Dany as wights surrounded her.

Jorah has already been repeatedly stabbed but pushes through - he saves the girl but loses his own life.

Theon Greyjoy

Theon showed little signs that he was afraid to take on the biggest and most fearful villain - the Night King.

While he stuck to his word by taking on the Night Walker, it seemed evidently clear that Theon didn’t stand a chance.

He protected Bran, but on charging the Night King is run through with a pike.

Melisandre

Melisandre, the Red Woman, probably became one of the most important characters in the episode.

She arrived at Winterfell before the battle commenced, giving her enough time to arm everyone with fire while seemingly helping Arya in killing the Night King.

She also predicted her own death.

And after it was all over, Melisandre took off her necklace, reverting to an old woman and returns to dust, leaving just her clothes behind.
