Harry Potter star Sir Michael Gambon dropped from new Sky One show Breeders after ‘struggling with his lines’
Sir Michael appeared in the pilot of new Sky One comedy Breeders but won't be returning
HARRY Potter star Sir Michael Gambon will not take part in a TV series as planned after allegedly struggling to learn his lines.
Sparking fresh concerns for his memory, the Dumbledore actor, 78, filmed the pilot but was not cast for the new Sky One show.
His original castmates, including Martin Freeman, have all been signed to appear in ten-part comedy Breeders, starting next year.
News of his withdrawal comes four years after he spoke of the “frightening” memory loss that forced him to end his theatre career.
Last night a source said: “Michael is an incredible actor, and was extremely popular on set.
“But age appears to have caught up with him and he was struggling with the script.
"Lines weren’t going in and sticking as they normally would.
"But the pilot went really well and Sky execs are heavily behind it.”
Breeders, which Sherlock star Freeman, 47, has co-created, explores the relationship between parents and kids.
