Stacey Dooley urged to stay away from Strictly pro lover Kevin Clifton as scandal ‘could be bad for her career’
A source close to Stacey claimed 'she has a lot of work on at the moment, and her agents don't want that to be effected'
STACEY Dooley’s romance with Strictly pro Kevin Clifton is already cooling off, after pals warned the scandal could be bad for her career.
The TV presenter, 32, has been advised to distance herself from the Grimsby-born dancer, 36, if she wants to build her telly career further.
A source close to the star said: “Stacey has plenty of work on at the moment and her agents don’t want that to be effected in the wake of the scandal.
“They’ve quietly suggested that the recent stories could be bad for her image and hope that she will listen to the advice.
“Stacey does what she wants at the end of the day but they think it’s best if she keeps a low profile and that means staying away from Kevin for now.”
In an interview with the Sun on Sunday Stacey’s ex Sam Tucknott revealed the BBC3 presenter had fallen for “slimy snake” Kevin after spending 14 hours a day together on Strictly.
The personal trainer told The Sun that he saw a text message from Clifton and Dooley’s phone which read “I love you” while clearing their shared flat following the split.
Stacey, now working on a new documentary in Colorado, America, broke her silence on Monday after Sam spoke out.
She tweeted there were “two sides to every story”.
Reaching out to Sam, she added: “Re Sam, I loved him v much and only wish him happiness and success going forward.”
Sam supported Stacey on BBC One’s Strictly and was a regular in the audience but pals claimed Stacey dumped him because he was “bad for her image”.
Kevin was seen leaving rehearsals for touring show Burn The Floor on Tuesday night but swerved questions about his romance with Stacey.
The Sun contacted Stacey’s representatives for comment.
