DRUG binges turned Johnny Depp into an alter-ego called “The Monster” who beat and strangled ex-wife Amber Heard, court documents claim.
Amber, 32 — married to the 55-year-old Pirates of the Caribbean star for a year — has filed her own lawsuit after he sued her for defamation over abuse claims.
Alleging 13 instances of violence, she says Depp would “often not remember his delusional and violent conduct”.
He denies her claims and his legal team say they have evidence and witnesses to back up assertions Amber was abusive towards him.
His lawyer Adam Waldman said: “A hoax confronted with the reality of evidence requires new lies to sustain itself.
Yesterday’s filing, made by a woman with a prior arrest and incarceration for domestic abuse, presented Amber Heard’s new lies.”
Here we detail the allegations made in Amber’s lawsuit:
Amber says the pair were in LA talking about a tattoo when she laughed at something Depp said.
She added: “I thought he had made a joke.
“He responded by slapping me across the face. Each hit was harder than the one before. The third hit knocked me to the floor. I thought about leaving Johnny then.”
In her testimony, Heard alleges Depp hit her again at her LA home.
She says: “On this particular incident, Johnny was getting drunk and high alone, and was angry that I had hung up a painting given to me by someone I had formerly dated.
“Johnny resumed his fight with me, and hit me so hard that blood from my lip ended up on the wall.”

Amber Heard, claim made in court document
Depp was holding a champagne bottle and appeared drunk on the morning of boarding a private jet from Boston to LA, according to Heard’s statement.
She claims her then-husband ordered flight attendants to give him an oxygen tank and then he drank heavily.
Heard stated: “Johnny’s handlers told me he was upset that I was filming a movie with a romantic scene with James Franco the day before. Soon, Johnny began to throw objects at me.
“He provocatively pushed a chair at me as I walked by, yelled at me, and taunted me by yelling out the name ‘James Franco’. At some point, I stood up, and Johnny kicked me in the back, causing me to fall over. He threw his boot at me while I was on the ground.” She says Depp later apologised in a text, writing: “Once again, I find myself in a place of shame and regret. Of course, I am sorry. I really don’t know why or what happened.
“But I will never do it again. My illness somehow crept up and grabbed me…I must get better…Again, I am so sorry, so sorry…I love you and I feel so bad for letting you down.”
In court papers, Amber tells of going to the Bahamas to help Depp detox under supervision of his full-time nurse.
But she claims: “Johnny and I got into a fight during which Johnny kicked and pushed me to the ground, slapped me with an open hand, and grabbed me by the hair.”
Heard claims that after a “particularly violent episode” Depp apologised and called himself “a f***ing savage”.
The actress alleges that while in a hotel room in Tokyo, Depp “shoved me, slapped me and grabbed me by my hair”.
She adds: “When I tried to stand up, Johnny muscled me back to the floor. He stood over me and yelled as I cried on the floor.”
In her court documents, Amber claims that a month into their marriage, Depp went on a three-day bender in Australia on at least eight ecstasy tablets.
Heard said: “By nightfall, Johnny had hit me multiple times, shoved and pushed me to the ground, choked me, and spit in my face. That night, Johnny shoved me into a ping pong table that collapsed underneath me.
“He threw bottles through the window panels of a glass door, breaking two panes, and leaving glass everywhere.
“Johnny then grabbed me, gripping my body and nightgown. He tore the nightgown off and at some point I was naked and barefoot, covered in alcohol and glass.
“Johnny grabbed me by my hair and choked me against the refrigerator in the kitchen. I tried to stand myself up but I was sliding around the glass-strewn floor and countertop.
“Johnny threw me away from him, and I tried to run away as he continued to throw objects and alcohol at me.
“In one of the most horrific and scariest moments of this three-day ordeal, Johnny grabbed me by the neck and collarbone and slammed me against the countertop.
“I struggled to stand up as he strangled me, but my arms and feet kept slipping and sliding on the spilled alcohol and were dragged against the broken glass on the countertop and floor, which repeatedly slashed my feet and arms.
“Scared for my life, I told Johnny, ‘You are hurting me and cutting me’.
“Johnny ignored me, continuing to hit me with the back of one closed hand, and slamming a hard plastic phone against a wall with his other until it was smashed into smithereens.
“While he was smashing the phone, Johnny severely injured his finger, cutting off the tip of it. Once I was able to get away, I barricaded myself in an upstairs bedroom.”
She also claims Deep later smeared messages on the walls with his bloodied finger and urinated over the house.
In another allegation, Amber told of punching an enraged Depp amid fears he would push her younger sister Whitney down the stairs at his LA home.
She stated in court papers: “Johnny lunged to hit me, Whitney placed herself between us. Johnny turned his attention to Whitney, who was standing on the top of a flight of stairs, and moved on her.
“Acting in defence of my sister, as I was scared for her physical safety, I punched Johnny in the face to draw his attention away from her.”
Amber alleges that “the Monster” returned during a train ride during a trip to Thailand and Malaysia.
She says in the court papers: “Johnny picked a fight with me, and started hitting and pushing me against a wall by grasping my throat and holding me there.
“I remember being afraid that Johnny might not know when to stop and that he might kill me.”
The couple were allegedly embroiled in another “physical fight” in LA.
Describing the incident, she claims: “Johnny ripped my shirt, and threw me around the room. He threw a wine glass and a heavy glass decanter at me, which luckily missed.
“At one point, Johnny pushed me and I fell over the back of a lounge chair and hit my head against a brick wall.
“I later learned that I had gotten a sizeable lump on the back of my head, and that my lip had busted open.”

Amber Heard, claim made in court document
Depp allegedly lost control at their LA home, according to Amber’s statement.
She said: “He slapped me hard, grabbed me by my hair, and dragged me from a stairwell to the office to the living room to the kitchen to the bedroom and then to the guest room. In the process, he pulled large chunks of hair and scalp out of my head.
“Johnny followed me, hit me in the back of my head, grabbed me by my hair again, got in front of me on the steps, and then dragged me by my hair up the last few steps.
“Johnny kept hitting me and each time he knocked me down, I chose to react by simply standing up and looking him in the eye.
“Johnny responded by yelling, ‘Oh, you think you’re a f***ing tough guy?’
“He reeled back and headbutted me in my face, bashing my nose, which immediately began bleeding, sending searing pain through my face.
“By the time Johnny had dragged me into the upstairs office, I told him that I was leaving him, since I could not put up with his behaviour any longer.
“Johnny reacted by grabbing me by my throat, pushing me down to the ground, and punching me in the back of my head. He grabbed me by my hair, slapping me in the face, and screaming at me something like, ‘I f***ing will kill you, I’ll f***ing kill you, you hear me?’
“The fight continued on a bed. Johnny got on top of me with his knee on my back and the other foot on the bedframe, while repeatedly punching me in my head, and he screamed as loudly as I’ve ever heard him scream, ‘I f***ing hate you’ over and over. The bedframe splintered under the weight of the pressure of his boot.
“Johnny hit me with his closed fists and I remember being unable to hear myself screaming as he had pushed my face into the mattress.
“For a while, I could not scream or breathe. I worried that Johnny was in a blacked-out state and unaware of the damage he was doing, and he could actually kill me.”
Amber claims in her lawsuit the pair fought after Depp turned up “late and inebriated” to her 30th birthday party.
She alleges that the actor threw and smashed a magnum of champagne against a wall and added: “Johnny grabbed me by the shoulders, pushed me onto the bed, and blocked the bedroom door when I tried to leave.
“He grabbed me by my hair, and violently shoved me to the floor.”
Heard says in court documents that she left Depp for good and filed for a domestic violence restraining order after he threw a phone at her — and a neighbour was forced to intervene.
She added: “I yelled, ‘You hit my face’ and started to cry. Johnny grabbed my hair and started to slap, shake and yank me around the room while I continued to scream.”
PICTURES submitted to a court by Amber Heard show the flat allegedly trashed by Johnny Depp after he had raged at her.
They show broken clothes racks with designer outfits, shoes and purses scattered all over the floor of the £2.3million Los Angeles penthouse.
The incident is said to have happened a month after the pair married in 2015.
Other pictures allegedly show incoherent messages that Depp daubed on a mirror inside a house, as well as clumps of Amber’s hair following fights.
