TANGO'IN TO PANTO
Strictly Come Dancing’s AJ Pritchard lands lead role in panto
Strictly Come Dancing professional dancer has landed a lead role as Peter Pan in a pantomime later this year.
HE stole the show playing Harry Potter in Strictly Come Dancing’s opening number for movie week last year and now AJ Pritchard has landed a lead role as another iconic boy.
The young-looking pro dancer, 24, has bagged himself the lead role as Peter Pan in his first ever pantomime at Dunstable's Grove Theatre.
The star will take on rehearsals during his Strictly commitments this Christmas, with performances starting soon after the BBC1 show finishes. Yikes - it’s a good job he’s still a spring chicken at 24.
AJ said: “Peter Pan has been one of my dream roles since I was a child. I’m really looking forward to my first pantomime and I can’t wait to not only come to Dunstable, but more importantly to fly to Neverland.”
It comes after he’s had some guest roles presenting Blue Peter and and appearances on Celebrity Masterchef.
AJ has made an impressive recovery since he and his brother Curtis were attacked in a nightclub over Christmas. At the time AJ hailed his bro as a hero after he jumped in front of thugs to save his leg. He said: "Yes it is a vile situation, but honestly the love has been overwhelming. My brother is my best friend by choice and a superman."
The show runs from Tuesday, December 10 to Sunday, January 5. Ticket prices start at £15.50.
