A source told the : "He met TV executives this week in a hotel bar.

"They assured him that the show's edited so that no one comes across as a terrible dancer, mentioning Katie Piper as someone who was not 'a natural' but who got the public behind her.

";They were talking to him about the Christmas special but emphasised that they want him on a whole series, rather than just a one-off."

The Sun Online exclusively revealed how Blue Peter presenter Radzi Chinyanganya is in advanced talks to do this year’s show.

BBC bosses have set their sights on the 32-year-old presenter, who recently announced he was quitting the iconic kids’ TV show after five and half years.

An insider told The Sun Online: “Bosses are really keen to get Radzi on board. He’s really well loved within the BBC and has a lot of potential.

“He’s being viewed as a bit of a rising star, much like Stacey Dooley last year – who was hugely successful on the show.

“Radzi already has a lot of younger fans and is likely to get all their parents’ votes, but he’s bound to win over the public because he is just so likeable.”

Radzi took over from Helen Skelton on Blue Peter in 2013 but last month he announced he had called it quits and his last show will air in April.

Describing the job as his “childhood dream come true”, he said: "I'll always be grateful for the experiences I've had, the people I've met and the relationships I've made.”

He added: "I will undoubtedly miss being part of the show, but all good things must come to an end."

As well as Blue Peter, Radzi is also known for hosting Cannon Ball alongside Frankie Bridge and Maya Jama.

Earlier this year he was picked by Sky news to present the National Basketball Association (NBA) London Game 2019 after covering the 2018 Winter Olympics.

Meanwhile, the upcoming Strictly is set to Virgin Radio host Chris Evans, who has confirmed that he's said yes to appearing on Strictly although he has yet to sign a contract.

Alan Carr was reportedly the first celeb to be offered a spot on next year's series.

Strictly Come Dancing declined to comment.  Radzi's rep has been contacted for comment.
