The couple then went to meet the cast - which includes comedian Paul Whitehouse - with Barbara grinning for pictures.

The star also cuddled up to Scott, looking radiant in a patterned silk blouse and pale blue trousers.

She said of the show: "The show was wonderful. It’s the kind of show I really love. I love Del Boy.

"The best entertainment I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying in ages.  I felt such a warmth from the audience. I would give it 5 stars!”

Barbara was diagnosed with Alzheimer's in 2014, with Scott making the news public last year.

Last week, her long-time spouse opened up about her condition during an interview on BBC Radio 2 and admitted she struggles to recognise their home.

Scott explained: "There's good and bad days, the confusion does progress and that becomes a lot more stressful for her to live with and you as the carer to watch.

“I think what I've learnt by talking to other people is it's very different for every case.

Barbara Windsor's husband Scott Mitchell reveals she no longer remembers she's inside her own home

"It's very simple things that used to be very easy, whether that's signing something or writing a letter, opening something ...”

He continued:  “At times very frustrating and irritable. It gets worse at night , with Barbara it's to do with our house.

"She constantly asks me over and over again at night whose house is this, are we staying here, is this the house I grew up with my mummy....”

Scott is also preparing to run the London Marathon later this month in aid of Dementia Revolution, a year-long campaign created by dementia charities Alzheimer’s Society and Alzheimer’s Research UK.

Scott is running the marathon alongside actors who worked with the former EastEnders star, now known as Barbara’s Revolutionaries.

Adam Woodyatt, Jake Wood, Emma Barton, Natalie Cassidy, Kellie Shirley, Tanya Franks, Jamie Borthwick and Jane Slaughter will all run for Barbara and other Dementia sufferers on April 28.

Begging fans to back the cause in any way they can - be it with donations or fundraising - Barbara said last week: "It means so much to me to see some of my closest friends coming together to support this cause.

"And I know it will mean a lot to everyone else living with dementia.

"Please support the Dementia Revolution in any way you can."
