American Horror Story season 9: Evan Peters quits show after split with co-star Emma Roberts and ‘exhausting’ dark roles
AMERICAN Horror Story star Evan Peters has quit the show after splitting with co-star Emma Roberts.
The 32-year-old actor - who has been in the series since it began in 2011 - announced he will "sit out" of season nine.
Speaking to a producer from Extra about his involvement in the next series, he said: "I'm going to sit a season out."
The X-Men star previously said he found his dark roles in the Ryan Murphy anthology series "exhausting".
He confessed: "It's really mentally draining, and you don't want to go to those places ever in your life.
"And so you have to go there for the scenes, and it ends up integrating somehow into your life.
"You're in traffic and you find yourself screaming and you're like, 'What the hell? This isn't who I am.'"
It also won't help that the Evan's ex Emma has been confirmed for the upcoming series.
The actress - who is the niece of Hollywood star of Julia Roberts - split with the actor after seven years and recently began dating Garrett Hedlund.
His decision hasn't gone down well with fans - with many claiming it had left them in tears.
