Hollyoaks viewers praise Stephanie Davis after harrowing portrayal of rape victim Sinead O’Connor

HOLLYOAKS viewers have praised Stephanie Davis for her harrowing portrayal of rape victim Sinead O'Connor.
The 26-year-old actress returned to the Channel 4 soap last year and showed off her acting prowess in her latest storyline.
Her character Sinead was raped by twisted husband Laurie Shelby during Monday's first look episode.
In tonight's first look, a shell-shocked and tearful Sinead confronted her husband about what he did to her the night before.
Laurie tried to say it was just a continuation of their argument, but Sinead replied: "It takes two people to argue, but one person to rape."
Later that morning, Sinead told her husband she was reporting him to the police and that he would pay for what he did.
But her spouse then brought up her prostitute past and said they'd never believe her over him, and somehow convinced her he didn't rape her.
He then turned on the waterworks for extra effect and sobbed to Sinead he wanted to fight for her and her daughter Lily by adopting her, despite what he claimed Sinead had done to him.
During the episode, Sinead went through a range of emotions from anger to heartbreak, shock to compliance, and viewers were full of praise for Stephanie's portrayal.
Taking to Twitter, one wrote: "Gosh @Stephdavis77 is all kinds of brilliant isn’t she #Hollyoaks."
Another added: "#Hollyoaks on first look is breaking me, how amazing is @Stephdavis77?!!!!!"
A third agreed, writing: "@Stephdavis77 is just absolutely incredible!!! Blows me away every time I'm so proud I'm in tears, what a beautiful actress #Hollyoaks."
Meanwhile a fourth was equally touched by Stephanie's acting, tweeting: "What incredible acting by @Stephdavis77 tonight, genuine tears in my eyes watching this storyline unfold. This is why she is the best actress on #Hollyoaks @Hollyoaks."
