Graham Norton to host BAFTA TV Awards 2019 15 years after he first took on role
The comedian is set to return to host the star-studded event that celebrates the best in British television
GRAHAM Norton is set to host this year’s BAFTA TV Awards - 15 years after he first took on the role.
The nominees for the highly-coveted awards were announced last week and the star-studded ceremony is due to be held in London on May 12.
In a statement, the comedian and TV presenter said: "It has been almost 15 years since I first hosted the Television Awards and what a pleasure it is to be returning to host once again.
"2018 was a stand-out year for television and I look forward to seeing the brilliant talent in our industry rewarded."
In the drama category, BBC’s Bodyguard and Killing Eve are set to go up against each other, while Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly will have to battle it out against the likes of Rachel Parris and David Mitchell to retain their title as entertainment's biggest star performers.
In life imitating art, lead Killing Eve actresses Sandra Oh and Jodie Comer are up against one another in the Leading Actress category.

Killing Eve's whopping 14 nominations were made possible after BAFTA bent its own eligibility criteria, which say shows "must have had the worldwide premiere transmission in the UK".
The drama premiered in the United States before the UK, however, the jury decided the series was sufficiently British.
In addition to the nominees, all eyes will most likely be on Ant McPartlin as he may face an awkward bumping into his estranged wife, Lisa Armstrong, just before the awards.
The former couple have both been nominated for BAFTAs, which means they'll get invitations to attend the prestigious Nominees Party on April 25.
