Howard revealed he was off to rehearsals immediately after his appearance, but was feeling a bit worn out after the band performed at the Teenage Cancer Trust concert in London last night.

He said: "I am a bit tired, I've got two little kids as well so I'm a bit sleep deprived.

"The rehearsals are very technical as we like to put on a big show.

"My brain's working overtime trying to remember the lyrics to the new album."

Chris, 52, then asked if he takes any diet or fitness tips from Gary, 48, after it was claimed earlier this week that the singer has been helping his friends stay in shape.

Howard replied: "He's very good with food now.

"[But] I don't need to as my wife is the same as him.

"I like to eat the healthy stuff she makes but I like to eat a bit of crap as well."

Take That fans will know that Gary struggled with his weight after the band split in 1996.

After they reunited in 2005, the singer started to transform his diet and exercise regimes and dropped five stone in the process.

Speaking about how he now stays so trim, Gary previously told The Sun: "“I’m a busy, busy guy with lots of responsibility but I cook every day for me and my wife.

Gary Barlow gives his most personal interview ever for The Dan Wootton Interview

"It’s about taking control. Rather than blaming, ‘Why am I fat? What are you doing to me Marks & Spencer — I eat your food all day’, you be in control of it.”

"When you look at someone filling a trolley full of ready-made meals, I’d say get rid of that and try and cook for yourself."
