Anne Hegerty undergoes glamorous makeover as she attends the National Film Awards

ANNE Hegerty underwent an incredibly glamorous makeover for this evening's National Film Awards, wowing on the red carpet after ditching her trademark trouser suit that she wears as The Governess on ITV game show The Chase.

The 60-year-old star was among the celebs at tonight's swanky ceremony, which was also attended by the likes of Idris Elba, Fleur East, and Tamzin Outhwaite.

Anne, who took part in last year's series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, looked sensational in a cream gown with sheer detailing and embellishments.

The star teamed the dress with simple jewellery, silver heels, and a black clutch bag.

She also glammed up with dramatic make-up, including a subtle red lip and elegant eyeshadow.

And it wasn't just Anne making a statement on the red carpet today, with 46-year-old actor Idris posing in a "Don't Stab Your Future" T-shirt in a response to London's growing knife crime epidemic.

The newly-engaged singer couldn't stop beaming as she posed for the cameras, with her new engagement ring just one of the accessories that she added to tonight's look.

Meanwhile, cricketer Laura Marsh wowed in a slinky red evening dress, with her blonde hair styled into a chic updo.

She completed the look with a pair of nude heels, with her short blonde hair styled into stylish curls.

EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite went for a daring snake-print maxi dress with silver heels and jewellery.

The blonde beauty pulled off the trend with ease, with the low-cut gown teasing a hint of cleavage as she smiled for waiting photographers.

Brian McFadden was joined by his professional Dancing On Ice partner, Alex Murphy, on the red carpet.

The Irish singer looked suave in a classic tuxedo, with Alex standing out in a floor-length, deep blue dress with a slight train.

Hollyoaks star Amanda Clapham also wowed in an elegant champagne dress, with subtle stripe detailing.

Ex EastEnders actress Nina Wadia, who played Zaineb Masood in the BBC soap, was also in attendance.

The actress showed off her legs in a black dress with sheer sleeves and a polka dot design.

The National Film Awards is an annual awards ceremony celebrating the achievements of established and independent filmmakers, actors, actresses, casting directors, production companies and crew who make up the motion picture industry.

All nominations and voting for the NFA are submitted and voted for by movie fans, with over 1.9 million casting their votes across 25 categories.
