EastEnders fans insist ‘evil’ Lucy Beale isn’t dead – and will return to Walford in May
The character, who was played by actresses including Hetti Bywater, is set for a return according to some viewers
EASTENDERS fans believe evil Lucy Beale is set to come back from the dead - and return to Walford within weeks.
The character, who was played by four actresses including Hetti Bywater, was bumped off by her brother Bobby Beale in 2014.
She returned briefly in a flashback sequence the following year - but now there is talk she will return more permanently.
One soap fanatic joining in a discussion about the departed character posted: "She's not really dead, is making a comeback in May."
It was a twist many would love to see, with other EastEnders viewers piling in to call Lucy a "brilliant character".
A third branded her "vulnerable, flawed, erratic and gutsy," while another said: "I miss her to this day still."
One other viewer joked that if Lucy is returning so could Roxy and Ronnie Mitchell, saying she should make her comeback with other much-loved characters by "skipping through the square with R&R, Danielle and Pat".
It would certainly be a startling comeback for the soap villain, who was found on Walford Common, having been dumped there by Jane Beale.
The 'Who killed Lucy?' storyline, which marked the 30th anniversary of EastEnders is regarded as one of the soap's best plots of recent years.
Soap bosses cooked up the mystery to give Walford veteran Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale, "a big chance to shine" on the milestone anniversary.

Hetti, now 24, has made a name for herself as a sexy Instagram star with nearly 100,000 followers since leaving the soap.
Last month, she hit back at body-shamers after posting a picture of herself in a bikini which they had branded "too thin".
She posted: "Does everyone have to be so bloody negative on IG. It's not your life so calm the f down."
"Also, to the people saying my hips are photoshopped... hahaa," she added. "I've always had wide hips. It runs in my family."
