Baptiste series 2 – hit BBC drama will be back after proving to be a ratings winner
THE BBC is planning to bring back Baptiste for a second series.
The drama starring Tom Hollander, 51, has proved to be a ratings winner with the cast now in talks to come back.
The first series ended on BBC1 this evening with Julian Baptiste, played by Tchéky Karyo, 65, appearing to make a U-turn on his decision to retire, leaving it open for another run.
After his son Niels (Boris Van Severen) was found out for working with the gangsters, he shot dead his mum and was arrested in a dramatic finale.
The show, a spin-off from drama The Missing, also starred Brits Jessica Raine, 36, and Clare Calbraith, 45.
The BBC first announced the series last April with it being shot in Amsterdam, Belgium and the UK in 2018.
Show-makers Jack and Harry Williams previously said they were eager to develop the show further, despite having other projects on the go.
They said: “We definitely want to do more Baptiste.

“I think in writing [Baptiste] we had some ideas about where he might go and in future series, we’ll tell a complete trilogy.
“This is the beginning with a bigger arc for Julien and new characters.”
The second series of The Missing debuted to 9.2million viewers when it was broadcast in 2016 although a third series is yet to be announced.
