DAVID Beckham was more than happy to take the mick out of himself for Comic Relief 2019 this evening, poking fun at his past fashion fails before reprising his iconic sarong and sharing a bath with James Corden.
The former footballer joked that his past dodgy looks were actually sponsored for the Red Nose Day charity as he insisted that he planned to have a quiet night in for tonight's show.
Speaking directly to the camera, 43-year-old David said: "Like a lot of people, I've done some really daft things to raise money for Comic Relief.
"For example, in 1998 I got sponsored to appear in public wearing a sarong, it was tough but worth it.
"Then in 2003 I was sponsored to go outside with my hair in braids, embarrassing.
"Then in 2010 I raised over £600 being sponsored to share a bath with James Corden.
"But this Red Nose Day I have decided to keep it simple, I'm going to stay home, not do anything weird, watch the show and just donate - and you can do all that too."
As the director called cut, David then stood up to reveal that he was wearing a black and white sarong.
James could then be heard calling David to come upstairs because he didn't want to miss the show.
With a bath running, David runs upstairs shouting: "Bagsy not the tap end."

James replied: "I don't care what end you sit, just remember you're doing my nails.
David shocked fans when he famously stepped out in a sarong in 1998 with his then-fiancee Victoria during the World Cup in France.
The star was ridiculed for the bold look, which he has defended multiple times in recent years - previously saying in an interview: "Sarongs are great.
"That's one thing I never regret because I thought it looked great and I would still wear it now."
