Glastonbury 2019 line-up — The Killers and The Cure in talks to headline festival in June
The US rockers are in advanced talks alongside veterans The Cure to be the final two headliners for the June festival
THE KILLERS best dig out their wellies – they could be on their way to Glastonbury.
The US rockers are in advanced talks alongside veterans The Cure to be the final two headliners for the June festival.
Despite having two years to organise the event, talks have broken down with a number of superstar acts in recent months as bosses refuse to pay the big bucks of other festivals.
If Brandon Flowers’ Killers and The Cure do sign up — which is looking likely — they will be joining Stormzy, who was announced as a headline act in November.
A Glasto insider said: “Festivals across the UK and Europe will fork out massive fees for their headliners but Glastonbury has never been one to match those big numbers.
“They believe acts should be honoured to play there because it’s the most prestigious festival in the world and should therefore accept a smaller fee.
“But in reality that isn’t quite working out this year and talks with a number of big names, including Cher and Madonna, have broken down as a result. Finally though they are confident that The Killers and The Cure are going to agree to play, which will stand them in good stead for another incredible event.”
It would be the fourth time as headliners for Robert Smith and his bandmates, who are marking the 40th anniversary of debut album Three Imaginary Boys, having played the Pyramid Stage in 1986, 1990 and 1995.
The Killers, who in turn are celebrating 15 years since their first record Hot Fuss, previously headlined in 2007 and played a surprise set at the festival in 2017.
Kylie Minogue and Janelle Monae are the only other acts to have so far been confirmed for Glastonbury, which will run from June 26 to 30 at Worthy Farm in Somerset.
If they get The Cure and The Killers, it will certainly still be worth the ticket price.

Tatum's Jessie J-walk
IF there was any doubt that Jessie J and Channing Tatum were in a relationship, they’ve quashed it, confirming they were an item as they strolled through London hand-in-hand yesterday.
They were first linked in October but remained coy about their relationship.
But they stared lovingly into each other’s eyes in front of photographers on their walk, having flown into London from Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Their display of affection comes just two weeks before the first anniversary of the Magic Mike actor’s announcement that he was divorcing wife Jenna Dewan after nine years of marriage.
By the look of these two, their honeymoon phase is still in full swing.

Ariana's ex fest line-up
I CAN telll you why Ariana Grande has been meeting ex-boyfriends in recent weeks – she wants rapper Big Sean and dancer Ricky Alvarez, to guest on her headline performance at Coachella festival.
She has been pictured with both recently, as well as another ex, actor Graham Phillips, earlier this week.
A source said her single Thank U, Next was about getting over her exes and it “brought her closer to them”.
The source added: “She is hoping Ricky and Sean will come out for her Coachella show next month.
When she performed there last year, her then-boyfriend Mac Miller was there, so it will be an emotional occasion now that he has died.
“But she is definitely still single. Ariana isn’t going to be getting back with her exes.”
