THE wife of Corrie star Simon Gregson had her nose broken by a thug as she defended her brother from a gang.
Emma Gleave, 35, was enjoying a night out with Michael — who has learning difficulties — when yobs started picking on him.
When the mum of three tried to stop them, one punched her in the face. It is believed she was taken to hospital and is now back home recovering.
Last night a source said: “Emma has always been hugely protective of her brother. The two of them had done nothing wrong when this awful man started goading him.
“Emma wasn’t prepared to let that happen and tried to defuse the situation — but the next second she was punched in the face and left in a lot of pain with a bloody nose.
“What sort of bloke punches a woman?
“Simon was furious. If he got his hands on this bloke, God knows what would happen.
“But his first concern is for Emma.”
Last week’s assault comes a year after Simon, 44, who plays Steve McDonald, revealed their heartbreak over losing 12 babies through miscarriages.
In 2017, surgeons saved Emma’s life after she had an ectopic pregnancy, where an egg implants itself outside the womb.

The pair, from Wilmslow, Cheshire, have three boys Alfie, 11, Harry, nine, and three-year-old Henry.
The attack comes after EastEnder Katie Jarvis, 27, who plays Hayley Slater, said she was glassed in London last Friday.
A Coronation Street spokeswoman last night said Simon and Emma did not want to comment.
