What happened in Harry’s Heroes: The Full English series one?
HARRY Redknapp is once again leading a squad of former England stars in Harry's Heroes: Euro Having a Laugh - which finishes tonight.
But what happened in the first series of the ITV show, Harry's Heroes: The Full English?
What happened in Harry's Heroes: The Full English series 1?
In last year's award-winning documentary series, Harry, 73, was tasked with turning a cohort of unfit England football legends from the 1990s into a winning team once more.
They included a host of familiar faces - such as David Seaman, Paul Merson and Matt Le Tissier - keen to prove that, even in middle age, they could still cut it on the pitch and beat old rivals Germany.
Viewers saw the ex-star players, who came from an era with a more relaxed approach to footie practice and healthy eating, as they adopted a rigorous new training and nutrition regime akin to that of today's pros.
The 2018 King of the Jungle, and assistant John Barnes, successfully coached the blokes to a 4-2 victory.
Speaking up about his squad on the show in series one, Harry said: “I think they'd win the Premier League this group, a forward line of Waddle, Le Tissier, Fowler and Merson.
"I mean what would Man United or anyone else give you for that forward line today?”
What will happen in series 2? (spoiler alert)
This year, Harry's team have been challenged by Germany to a rematch on their own turf.
The players - who include some new faces, like Michael Owen - will warm-up against France and Italy before hoping to score another win.
The show description reads: "Harry Redknapp is taking his team of old England Legends on a European Tour.
"Joining Harry again as Assistant Manager is Liverpool Legend John Barnes, and the team is a who's who of England Internationals including: David Seaman, Paul Merson, Matt Le Tissier, Rob Lee, Ray Parlour, Lee Sharpe, Mark Chamberlain, Mark Wright, Razor Ruddock, and new addition, Aston Villa’s Lee Hendrie.
"Harry’s team have been challenged to a rematch against the German Legends Team – but this time, it's on their home soil. Harry and John decide to make a tour of it – what could possibly go wrong?"
