: "The show’s always fascinated me. This year I thought I’m prepared to take the risk – it’s my last resort to be honest.”

Jack, 25, sinks a shot before walking down the aisle, explaining: “I’ve always gone for the wrong person before,” says Jack, single for a year. “My parents think I’m bonkers. I saw my mum earlier and as she looked at me she said: ‘You can still run.’”

Both are confident they can buck the trend and become the first couple in the show's history to last the distance.

Jonathan, 35, didn't need booze to calm his nerves. Instead he mused: “If this can’t work with so much preparation ­matching us, what can?”

And the first impressions are looking good, with Stephanie saying: "When I first saw him I thought ‘Oh, he’s smiling,’ which is a good sign. It’s felt very natural and normal throughout.”

The pairings will be desperate to avoid the same messy fate as last year's contestants Ben Jardine and Stephanie Saintremy, whose relationship ended in divorce amid a very public fallout.

Despite ending the series together, just one week after filming wrapped Ben shocked fans with the news that they’d split.

One day later, a 20-year-old named Lucy accused him of cheating on Steph with her, but Ben insisted he only kissed another girl when the couple knew their marriage was over.

Ben entered the Celebrity Big Brother house last summer and struck up a flirty relationship with actress Roxanne Pallett.

He failed to tell her he was an expectant father, and she was gobsmacked when she finally heard the news.

The reality star's baby was born in November, with his pal Lizzie Cundy announcing the news on FUBAR Radio.

Ben previously insisted he always wanted his marriage to a stranger to work - and admitted he did kiss someone - but only when Steph knew it was all over.
