Who are Michael Jackson accuser Wade Robson's parents?

WARNING: Contains spoilers from Part One of Leaving Neverland

Mother - Joy Robson

Joy was working as a hairdresser when she entered her son Wade Robson into a dance contest sponsored by Michael Jackson’s tour company - which he won and met the King of Pop.

She moved Wade and his sister Chantal from Brisbane, Australia to Los Angeles and was able to get a permanent resident visa.

After she moved two of her three kids to the US, she split up her family and left her third child and husband Dennis behind.

When Jackson was in court for his 2005 child abuse case, Joy testified for him as a character witness, as her son had not yet told her the truth about the alledged abuse.

Wade also testified for Jackson and only revealed his account of what he claims happened in Neverland in 2013.

Father - Dennis Robson

Dennis reportedly told  in 1993 that the worried about losing his son if he said anything bad about Jackson and admitted he was molested as a child himself.

It is reported that Wade was just a kid when his dad was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

Dennis killed himself in 2002 and Wade said in Leaving Neverland he never full understood what caused his father’s pain.

Who are Michael Jackson accuser James Safechuck's parents?

Mother - Stephanie Safechuck

Stephanie was working as a hairdresser at the time she was introduced to Michael Jackson.

Her son James, aged nine, appeared in a 1993 Pepsi advert with Jackson, who then befriended him and Stephanie, and became “part of the family.”

In Leaving Neverland she described her relationship with Jackson as “one of my children – another son”.

Father - James Safechuck Sr

James' dad has so far not been featured in Leaving Neverland.

Not much is known about his dad, other than he allowed Michael to buy his family a house.

He also defended Michael in the 1994 Jordy Chandler child abuse case.

Where were Wade Robson and James Safechuck's parents when the alleged 'abuse' was going on?

In the first half of Leaving Neverland, it is only the two mothers who are interviewed.

They individually speak about Jackson earning their trust by lavishing them with gifts, first-class plane tickets and even a house, in order to spend time with their young sons.

Joy Robson

Joy took her son to see Jackson in LA where Wade, who was seven years old at the time, was allegedly allowed to sleep in the same bed as the singer during their stay with him, whilst his mum slept in other room.

At one point, Wade recounts how the Robsons left him at Neverland Ranch with Jackson for five days while they went camping in the Grand Canyon

It is then claimed by Wade that this is when the sexual abuse started.

Upon their return Jackson is alleged to have asked Joy: “Will you leave Little One [his nickname for Wade] with me for a year?”

Initially Joy declined, but she claims that Jackson told her: “I always get what I want.”

She said she responded: “Not this time. I will share Wade with you, but I am not going to leave him with you.”

It was after this, with promises from Jackson that Wade will have a film career, that Joy uprooted her young family from Australia to move to LA.

Dennis Robson

Wade and his dad were estranged when his father committed suicide.

In 2013 Wade filed a lawsuit that claimed Jackson had sexually abused him as a child, where it is implied that his father knew about the alleged abuse.

The lawsuit, which was against MJJ Productions and MJJ Ventures, cited “the thought that Plaintiff [Wade Robson] might have been sexually abused by Decedent [Jackson] was a huge source of anxiety and depression for his father.”

Stephanie Safechuck

In Leaving Neverland, Stephanie revealed how the family were treated to lavish trips across the world as James took part in Jackson’s world tour.

At first Stephanie said that she wouldn't allow James to sleep in the same room as Jackson.

But when they went on tour with him she allowed it after being told that she would be given a "better suite" that would be more suited to her.

But as James' parents’ hotel rooms moved further away from Jackson, this is where his alleged abuse began.

James Safechuck Snr

The father of James told how the iconic singer would kiss his young son on the mouth, but "there was nothing wrong with that", according to court transcripts from the 1994 Jordy Chandler child abuse case.

In documents obtained by  James, who would have been 16 years old at the time, repeatedly told his father that Jackson had never molested him.

The father relayed his son's denial to a grand jury on April 12, 1994, as part of an examination related to the police and District Attorney's efforts to prosecute Jackson for the alleged molestation of Jordie Chandler.

Safechuck Sr. admits that while Jackson frequently stayed over at their family's Los Angeles house, running around in footie pajamas and kissing his young son on the lips, he insisted Jackson never molested his child.
