Simon Cowell has dropped half a stone after cutting sugar, gluten and dairy from his diet
The X Factor boss has been 're-energised' after binning the sausage rolls and eating gluten-free foods such as eggs and poultry
SIMON Cowell has lost half a stone after experts ordered him to cut out sugar, gluten and dairy -and stick to things like eggs.
The 59-year-old X Factor judge was tested for intolerance to certain foods after telling docs he felt sluggish and run-down at the start of the year, report.
A source close to the star told the paper: “Simon was feeling a bit run down, so someone suggested he see a specialist about food tolerances.
"The specialist revealed he is allergic to a few everyday things which had been making him tired.
“As a result, he has cut out lots from his diet and the impact has been almost immediate. He has loads of energy.”
After following the plan - and quitting his sausage roll feasts - Simon has lost 7lbs and is said to feel re-energised.

However, the insider adds that the music mogul, who famously loves the scampi and chip platter served at Harvester restaurants, has struggled at times.
They revealed: “He’s found it really tough to cut out a lot of things he used to love eating, like sausage rolls.
“But he can’t believe the change it’s had in such a short space of time. He’s looking and feeling great at the moment, the best he has in years.
"He has a real spring in his step, which everyone around him has noticed.”
