Kym Marsh reveals Michelle Connor ‘will be back’ as she quits Coronation Street after 13 years
KYM Marsh announced last week she would be leaving Coronation Street after 13 years playing Michelle Connor.
But, the 42-year-old actress has revealed it won't be the last we see of the former Rovers landlady.
Chatting to on her plans after leaving the street, Kym said: "I want to test myself more as an actress. It would be nice to do a bit of comedy maybe, or theatre. I'd like to stretch myself a bit!
"When I was lucky enough to be offered four episodes, I never in my wildest dreams have thought I'd be here 13 years later.
"It's been an incredibly difficult decision, but it feels like the right time to explore some other roles.
"But this isn't the last you've heard of Michelle Connor - she'll be back!".
Kym is obviously optimist that producers will not do away with her alto-ego, after explaining 'it's just a break' during her appearance on today's Loose Women.
"I've said I'm taking a break, so yeah. I think it's just a break for me. Being there for 13 years without taking anytime away..."
"It has flown by and I've had such a wonderful time on that show. I've learnt so much and I've made friends for life.
"But it's time for me to take a little break. I just want to scratch a few itches."
"There were reports that I was going to appear in the next series of Strictly or I'm A Celeb ... as wonderful as those shows are, I'm not leaving Corrie after thirteen years to do reality TV", the actress confimed.
Kym's Corrie character, Michelle, is currently in the midst of a pregnancy story-line with partner, Robert Preston.
And the actress can't escape baby talk off-screen either, recently revealing she is soon to become Grandparent as her daughter, Emilie, 21, is expecting her first baby.
"I'm so excited, you'd think it was my baby," the actress explained.
"It's nice, because Emilie is close enough to be able to confide in me - I was the first person to know and I was with her when she took her pregnancy test. I'm lucky."
Kym is also mum to David, 23, and Polly, 7.
The Sun exclusively told how the Kym was walking away from the Street after 13 years and is set to "make a million" in lucrative deals.
The actress – who earns a six-figure salary on the cobbles – will now be free to take on advertising work as well as other highly-paid acting jobs such as panto, telly dramas and reality TV.
