Ricky Whittle ridiculed by This Morning viewers for calling his face ‘the moneymaker’ and speaking with American accent

RICKY Whittle has been mercilessly mocked by viewers for speaking with an AMERICAN accent on This Morning - and referring to his face as "the money maker".

One unimpressed fan told the former Hollyoaks actor bluntly: "You're from Manchester."

Ricky was talking to Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield about his telly drama American Gods - but viewers were far more interested in how he acquired a Stateside accent.

One wrote: "Ricky whittle sounds like Ross from friends when he pretended to be a professor from England."

Another asked: "Why is Ricky Whittle speaking with an American accent on This Morning?"

A third stated, dramatically: "Ricky Whittle’s accent is making me want to commit myself to an asylum."

In full luvvie mode, Ricky told the hosts: "I like playing sports but I am no longer allowed to play sports because I have to..."

Phil suggested: "Watch the face?"

Ricky replied without so much as a smile: "Yeah. Not the money-maker."

Phillip even addressed the fact that the former Calvin Valentine star, who now lives in the States, had turned American, saying he had gone "all LA";.

Adopting an American accent, Phil mocked: "It's a long way from Hollyoaks isn't it? You are really very LA now. You just can't help it can you?"

Ricky replied, unironically: "I say sidewalk. I so say elevator."

One fan gasped at the cringe factor, tweeting: "Did Ricky Whittle actually just refer to his face as the money maker?"

Another posted: "Just hopped on Twitter to see if anyone else thinks Ricky Whittle accent is mental....Erm yeah! Even Phil's taking the piss now 😆."

A third insisted: "That Ricky whittle chat was a total car crash, what was with the accent??

"Bet holly and Phil couldn’t stop laughing when the cameras stopped."
