ORLANDO Bloom extravagantly popped the question to Katy Perry in a helicopter - but his proposal wasn't quite as suave as he was hoping.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live yesterday, the singer, 34, admitted there were a few hiccups when the actor, 42, asked her to be his wife while flying high above the LA skyline.
She confessed: "It was Valentine's Day. We went to dinner and I thought we were going to see some art after dinner but we pulled up to a helicopter.
"The funny part is we had champagne in the helicopter and the [ring] box was in his pocket and he had written down everything he wanted to say on a note to divert."
But his plan to distract Katie with his romantic note fell flat when he struggled to remove the large ring box from his coat pocket.
Katy quipped: "He's pulling out this box that's too big for his coat pocket and he rips his coat pocket and then his elbow goes into the champagne!"
But the Lord of the Rings star managed to bring it back when he finally asked the big question.
The couple then landed on an LA rooftop where Katy's friends and family were there to congratulate her.
She gushed: "He did so well," before labelling the pair "adventure buddies".
Katy also admitted she had "voiced her opinion" when it came to her large pink diamond ring.
