Kym Marsh ‘will make a million’ after quitting Coronation Street
CORONATION Street's Kym Marsh has quit the show so she can make a million – just like former favourites Michelle Keegan and Ryan Thomas.
Over the weekend, The Sun's Bizarre column exclusively revealed Kym had quit the soap after 13 years playing Michelle Connor.
The actress – who earns a six-figure salary on the cobbles – will now be free to take on lucrative advertising work as well as other highly-paid acting jobs such as panto, telly dramas and reality TV.
Kym, 42, has been forced to turn down a string of money-spinning ad jobs for make-up and fashion firms in recent years.
But after handing in her notice, she will be able to rake in the cash.
A source said: “Kym will really be able to test her earning power now and the roles and ad work will come pouring in.
“She will be able to bank a million by the end of the year, easily.”
Michelle Keegan is now worth an estimated £3 million after quitting her £60,000-a-year role as Tina McIntyre in 2014.
And Ryan – who left the Street in 2016 – is now closing in on his first million after stints in Neighbours and money-spinning panto, along with winning Celebrity Big Brother last year.
Coronation Street stars are not allowed to plug or promote products while contracted to the ITV show – which has long been a source of anger for the cast.

Another TV source pointed out that ITV presenters like Ant and Dec and Holly Willoughby rake in a fortune promoting everything from cars to diet drinks and cosmetics.
They said: “That’s the simple reason why people leave, because the money’s not great for a lot of the cast and there are few chances to boost their wages, apart from personal appearances or going on Dancing on Ice or in the I’m a Celeb jungle.”
Corrie also has a three-tier system that means new actors are paid a fraction of Street veterans.
And it is the established middle-ranking stars- like Kym and Ryan before they quit - who feel under paid.
The huge wage difference means that big guns like Bill Roache and Michael Le Vell pick up cheques of up to £250,000, while those in the middle tier are on around £100,000-a-year.
And new arrivals in Weatherfield are now signing contracts meaning they are earning £50,000-a-year – that’s on a par with cast members at Channel 4 show Hollyoaks, which has a fraction of the viewers of Corrie.
