BAD BLOOD

Jack P Shepherd hints Nick Tilsley WILL be Coronation Street’s new villain – and says David won’t hesitate to betray his brother

CORONATION Street’s Jack P Shepherd has hinted Nick Tilsley WILL be the soap’s new villain – but says David Platt won’t hesitate to betray him.

Nick (Ben Price) stole Audrey Roberts’ £80k inheritance – before framing Lewis Archer and Claudia Colby for his crime –  after previously stealing £40,000 off his estranged wife.

But David (Jack P Shepherd) is privy to his crimes after they decided to use the money to set up their new barber shop.

Now Jack says it is only a matter of time before his own dark streak bubbles to the surface and he turns against his brother.

Jack explained: “At the minute they’re literally thick as thieves.

“After Nick stole from Audrey and they invested in setting up the barbers, they’ve got this secret.

“David was horrified by what Nick had done at first. I think Nick also regrets doing it, actually. But here they are and they’re trying to get on with it. I think they saw an opportunity and they both just went for it and now they have to live with that.

He added to : “David’s always had that dark streak in him. Nick, you could argue, now has a darker side due to the brain injury David gave him.

“The writers can delve into that when they want to give Nick a reason for doing something bad, as he was always the golden child before.

“At the minute they’re the best of friends and they’re in it together, but if push comes to shove, I don’t think either of them would think twice about throwing the other one under the bus.”

Corrie bosses previously teased that an established character will become “corrupted”, making them “a complicated villainous presence on the cobbles” – eventually knocking down the factory and killing another resident in scenes that will air in March.

Viewers also reckon that Nick’s recent behaviour is proof that he will become the villain – who is set to torment the rest of the street for years.

Taking to social media, one fan said: “I honestly think Nick is going to be the new @itvcorrie villain who will burn down Peter’s boat, cause the factory roof to collapse and probably a load more bad stuff.”

Another added: “Watch this space. Nick will be the new #corrie villain.”
