EASTENDERS' Tom Watt wants to return as Lofty full time after his guest stint alongside Mary 'The Punk' Smith.
The characters return to Albert Square in the coming weeks for Dr. Legg's funeral after a 30 year absence.
But speaking to The Sun Online, Tom admitted he would be open to a more permanent role in Walford.
The 62-year-old said: "Well, I don’t know, they’ve never said.
"If they did, yeah, I like acting. I really like acting, it’s not that I’m not doing it because I don’t like acting.
"I’m not great at waiting for the phone to ring.
“I love acting, I had a really good time. It’s harder work now. They work a lot harder than we did.
"We did two episodes a week. They do twice as much. I’m working ghostwriting an autobiography.
“I was filming in Liverpool to produce some short films for BT Sport and about the Premier League about disability projects around football clubs, I do
about 10 of those a year.
“All sorts of stuff, but there would always be a bit of room for acting. I’ve been kinda waiting, I wait long enough…”

Tom was an original cast member when EastEnders started in 1985 before leaving in 1988.
He returns alongside Linda Davidson to reprise their roles as Lofty and Mary after fellow original character Dr. Legg is killed off.
A soap source previously told The Sun: "Lofty and Mary The Punk are two of the most memorable characters of the original set of stars.
"It’s staggering to think it’s been more than 30 years since they were last on the Square but soap fans will be delighted to hear of their comeback.
