When is Amazon Prime documentary Bible Conspiracies out and what's it about?

A divisive new documentary on Amazon Prime has sparked controversy.

Bible Conspiracies poses the questions "Did Jesus exists?" and "What was his real name?" among others.

And claims that the Biblical figure of Jesus Christ was actually a Greek philosopher living at around the same time.

The documentary claims the miracles attributed to Jesus were actually performed by Apollonius of Tyan who too was born on 25 December to a virgin.

It also espouses that Jesus married Mary Magdalene and had two children with her and challenges whether Bethlehem even existed at the time.

Bible Conspiracies even claims that Jesus planned his own death in order to start a new religion.

But beyond all of these controversial musings, it also claims that the Tower of Babel was actually destroyed by aliens.

And that Sodom and Gomorrah were killed by a nuclear explosion, despite nuclear power not having been discovered yet.

Critics have bashed it for lacking any theological basis and failing to feature any experts or theologians to back up its outlandish claims.

While viewers have been left far from impressed by the out-there documentary.

In the Amazon reviews one user wrote: "The documentation fails to link any of his rantings with facts or evidence" and accuses it of "grasping at straws to disprove the bible with little more than his own prejudice."

While another let their feelings known: "If you need help in sleeping then this is the video for you. I managed about 12 minutes before my eyes started to close and I lost interest."
